Zahidi Wants Razali As Running Mate

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 24 (Bernama) — Perlis Umno Liaison Committee deputy chairman Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin, who is vying for the Umno Youth chief post, hopes to have Member of Parliament for Muar, Razali Ibrahim as his running mate.

“I am comfortable with Razali in pursuing a mission to put Umno Youth on the right track in shaping Umno’s political future,” Zahidi told Bernama, Wednesday.

Others who have offered to vie for the post are MP for Jerlun Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, former Selangor menteri besar Datuk Seri Dr Khir Toyo and Umno Youth deputy-chief Khairy Jamaluddin.

Razali, who is Johor Umno Youth chief, has announced his decision to contest the Umno Youth deputy-chief post.

Another candidate, who has offered to contest the post, is Umno Youth executive committee member Datuk Reezal Merican Naina Merican.

JOHOR BAHARU: Ketua Pemuda Umno Johor, Razali Ibrahim hari ini menawarkan diri bertanding jawatan Naib Ketua Pemuda Umno pusat Disember ini.

Pengumuman itu dibuat Razali selepas mempengerusikan mesyuarat pergerakan itu di Pejabat Badan Perhubungan Umno Johor di Jalan Yahya Awal, sini hari ini.

Razali yang juga anggota Parlimen Muar ketika bercakap kepada pemberita berkata, keputusan untuk bertanding dibuat selepas jawatan Naib Ketua Pemuda itu dikosongkan Khairy Jamaluddin pada 17 September lepas.

JOHOR BAHARU, 21 Sept (Bernama) — Johor Umno Youth head Razali Ibrahim announced here Sunday that he was offering himself for the national Umno Youth vice-chief post in the party elections in December.

The announcement was made after a meeting of Johor Umno Youth held at the Johor Umno headquarters here, ending speculation about Razali’s intention to vie for the post.

Razali, who is also the Muar division Youth chief and member of parliament for Muar, said he hoped to help restore the people’s confidence in the party, and that the party should return to its original struggle of championing the interests all and not certain groups only.

Speculation is rife that Umno Youth executive committee member Datuk Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Perlis Umno Youth chief Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman and Selangor Youth vice-head Faizal Abdullah will also be vying for the post, but so far there has been no confirmation.
